UPDATE: Where have I been?

Hey there, Stampin’ Nuts!

I just wanted to let you know I am still around and my blog has not been abandoned! I recently had a lifelong dream come true, I was admitted into law school!! I started in mid August and it has been intense. I haven’t had any time for creativity! It is sad, but just a small sacrifice. I am home today healing and recovering not only from my first round of mid-terms but from a root canal I had yesterday. Yes, my life really has been full lately! HA HA HA

With this little recovery break today, I’m hoping to get some posts that I’ve had in the back of my mind ready for you. I even have 2 Paper Pumpkin videos I need to share!

Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge #7

My dear amazing friend and teacher, Brandy Cox, has started doing a weekly color challenge! Mom and I were both able to participate this week! The color challenge is simple. Brandy gives us 3 current Stampin’ UP! colors that coordinate (some surprising combinations!) and then you can also use either Very Vanilla or Whisper White ONLY! No other colors. Just use a current stamp set and let your imagination run WILD! Brandy’s Website, Brandyscards.com, also features other stampers that participated! I was super glad Brandy welcomed me into her family of Blooms and Butterflies!

This week our colors were Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie. At first I was a little scared when I saw these colors, but then it put me a fall frame of mind. I chose to use 2 new sets from the Stampin’ UP! Holiday Catalog. The sets I used were Truly Grateful and Harvest of Thanks. I made a “gate card” where I cut my 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock in half and then scored it 2 3/4 inches from each end. I used the wood-grain background stamped in Crushed Curry from Truly Grateful as my background on Very Vanilla. I then stamped the “Harvest of Blessings” in Melon Mambo and the cute turkey in Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the turkey twice so I could cut out the turkey and pop him up with my Stampin’ Dimensionals, after I glittered him of course!! I also popped up “Harvest of Blessings”. Last I added a Pumpkin Pie bow I made from gross grain ribbon and adhered it with a glue dot!

I just LOVE the card mom made. (I like her’s better than mine) She used the stamp set “Polka-Dot Pieces” and the punches: Bird Builder, Scallop Circles (various sizes) and the Scallop Border. Her base cardstock was Melon Mambo and she used the Scallop Border Punch on the bottom so she could place the Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper behind it, showing off the cute polka-dots in Whisper White. Then Mom placed a rectangle of Crushed Curry onto the top of her card. She stamped using all the stamps from the set in the various colors from the color challenge onto Whisper White cardstock and then she played around with the placement. (She played around for quite some time to get it just right). She gave the card some depth using Stampin’ Dimensionals and blinged out her card with rhinestones in the center of the flowers and on the butterfly. She also glittered up the wing of the little birdy!

I hope you enjoyed our first attempts at the Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge!!

Join me for: “Are you laughing with me?” OR “Paper Pumpkin Deal!”

CAUTION: Please use the restroom prior to reading this post! Please do not take a sip of you drink during this time. I am not responsible for any accidents that may occur while you read and watch this post! LOL 😉

Alrighty, my Stampin’ Nut friends, I have done it! I have ventured into the world of web videos! My dear friend, Brandy Cox, has been doing videos for quite sometime. So while she was away in Utah at the annual Stampin’ UP! Convention I decided I would try to make a video for Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up! I mean, how hard can it be, right?! HA HA HA I grabbed my iphone , my Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit and my handy dandy videographer- Mom! Let the adventure begin. I love to talk and can ususaly think on the fly, so I didn’t bother with bullet points or a script, I can just wing it!

Well….Let me say that there is a lot more to it than I thought. However, I did make some FANTASTIC BLOOPERS, not to toot my own horn or anything. I had three short bloopers and then my “final” blooper was pretty good, until the end. It was like my thoughts just stopped! and then so did the video. After letting several people see the video, I decided, to go ahead and post the full video without editing. I think it’s entertainment value is something my Stampin’ Nuts will enjoy. Also, Stampin’ UP! decided to launch a Paper Pumpkin Promotion and I wanted to have something to show you right away!! I hope you enjoy!

If you need information presented in a slightly more understandable method be sure to visit my Paper Pumpkin Page! (Say that 5 times fast!) Now onto the savings! Paper-pumpkin_demo_header_august

This Paper Pumpkin Promotion is good through August 31, 2013! Sign up now for ONLY $10 a month!! Click here and use Promo Code: PUMPKINDEAL

I love bloopers and they make me laugh and I can’t seem to get enough, so you can check out my blooper videos. I hope you enjoy watching! Blooper 1, Blooper 2, and Blooper 3

Conventions all around!

I hope all my Stampin’ Nuts are doing well. This has been an awesome week for me. I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend and we were at a convention together. While I was at my convention, another great convention was taking place!

Yes, Stampin’ Up! hosts a convention every year open to all demonstrators! Unfortunately, I was not able to make it, but am hoping to make it next year! However, my dear friend Brandy Cox attended and made it into Founder’s Circle! Founder’s Circle is a top Stampin’ Up! honor for the top 100 demonstrator’s. This has been a goal for Brandy for several years. I’m so happy and blessed to know her and couldn’t be more excited for her.
Here’s a pic of her on stage.

Convention revealed a lot of new and exciting products that Stampin’ Up! will be offering soon…more to come!

Peace for your Memories

Hey there all my Stampin’ Nuts!

It’s been a crazy week or so!  But I wanted to show you a card I made. I made this card for a very dear friend of mine whose father passed away. Sympathy cards are always good to have on hand because you’ll never know when need one. I was able to make this one pretty quickly and despite the reason for the card, it was fun to make.

I used the Stampin’ Up! “Lovely As A Tree” Stamp Set and “Blessings From Heaven” Stamp Set, the colors I used were Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Early Espresso.

I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the oak tree in Garden Green and Early Espresso and I used my VersaMark Stamp Pad to stamp the leaves around the edges and give a neat watermark effect. I then used my Stampin’ Distress Tool to distress the edges before wrapping it with twine. I just tied the twine in a not and cut off the edges. I matted the twine and tree onto Garden Green and then matted those two layers onto an Early Espresso cardstock base.  I stamped my greeting in Garden Green onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then trimmed my garden green and adhered it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping By!

Christmas in July!

Hey Stampin’ NUTs!

Yesterday I  got a visit from the “man of my dreams” – the UPS man with Stampin Up Boxes! and I received my order of Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalogs!! They’re awesome!

This catalog will be good to order from beginning August 1, 2013- January 2, 2014. I’d love to hook you up with a sneak peek! Just e-mail me at ABStampinNUT@gmail.com with you’re address information and I’ll drop one in the mail for you! Now is a great time to start on your holiday cards to avoid the “Christmas Crunch Time”!

What do I love about the Holiday Mini? I love the Thanksgiving sets! They’re beautiful and perfect for fall. I love fall, it’s the start of football and back to school, the leaves are just beautiful and you can wear boots and leggings everyday!! LOL!  The fall colors are just so much fun with glitter and I love a good excuse to play with glitter, like I actually need an excuse to add bling!

They’re is a cute kit in the Mini to make your Thanksgiving table so beautiful, in case your turkey doesn’t come out looking so lovely. It’s called Thankful Tablescape.  The kits in the Holiday Mini are great, so creative but so quick and easy to use.

There are great framelits and dies this holiday! They have “Envelope Liners” which I’m obsessed with and ordered in my Demonstrator pre-order. They allow you to cut beautiful paper and line the inside of your envelopes for a more special and delicate touch. The possibilities with this are outside of this world!  SU! as done it once again with beautiful snowflake stamps and matching dies they’re beautiful.

Well, that’s enough out of me. I want there to be some surprise left for you! Remember you have to wait until August 1st to order, but if you want to see everything early so you can have your wish list ready to go-email me!

NEW!! Photopolymer Stamp Sets

Screen Shot 2013-05-31 at 10.17.25 PM

What are Photopolymer stamps? Well, we’ve searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we’ve found it. We’re excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let’s just say they’re meant for each other!

Stampin Up Bombs Away Birthday Photoplymer Stamp SetPhotopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options. What makes them so great?

  • They’re entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don’t worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They’re age tested. They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They use FDA, food-safe material. How far can you stretch your stamping creativity?
  • We could go on, but we’ll let you try them for yourself.

Check Out This Awesome Idea

One thing I love about the SU! 2013-2014 Idea Book and Catalog is the great packaging ideas they featured! I’ve worked in retail for years and one thing I’ve learned, presentation is EVERYTHING! Sometimes, I will even by things because of the way it is packaged and the presentation is so awesome, I feel like I have to have it!! This is something my Aunt Angie definitely understands! I love when she gives me presents for my birthday and Christmas, not just because I like presents, but because she wraps them so pretty. I don’t want to unwrap it because it is so pretty!

Check out the link below of this neat box topper featured in the new catty! I’d love to hear your comments! Enjoy!

After years of being a Stampin’ Up! customer, I have decided to go for it by becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!! YAY!! I have already ordered my start up bundle and will be a part of Brandy Cox’s Butterflies and Blooms Team! I just adore Brandy and she has really grown her business and I am looking forward to learning everything I possibly can from her!

Yeah, anytime you feel the need (or want, which is usually my case) you can place an order right on Stamp-Nut! New Catty NUTS!

HOORAY!! Our first order from the NEW Stampin’ UP! Catalog came today!! It’s all so pretty!

It has arrived!!

It has arrived!!

You can see I ordered some of the things I mentioned in a previous post, “Drum Roll, Please” talking about some of my favorites in the new catty. The Chalk Talk bundle, which I can’t wait to try the Framelits with the Tag It set. I also got some great Candy Buttons in Brights. And no first order from the new Idea Book is complete with out getting some NEW In Colors! Mom and I took advantage of the In Color! Bundle because we get the ink pads and cardstock for the 5 new colors! I took the opportunity to order some Whisper White Envelopes as well as some Clear Envelopes too!

Also, In that blog post I talked about how excited I was to take advantage of some new clear cases for my wood mount stamps. Well, there was a mis-communication between me and mom! It’s funny let me tell you what happened. Mom asked what I wanted to order first, and I immediately told her I wanted a set of the clear cases for the wood mount stamps and a set of the regular clear cases. (I needed a clear case for a couple sets and also a cool project I’ve seen online!-more on that another day…) Mom asked how many sets of cases we needed to order. I told her that I only needed 1 set of each for now and then whatever she needed. Well, I guess figuring out how many she needed was just too much for her, because she didn’t order any, of either size, LOL! I was so excited about the cases and when the Stampin’ Up! package arrived, I thought the box looked pretty small. That’s because they don’t ship the stuff you want, just what you order, LOL! I wish it was the other way around. 🙂

Nutters, even woke up to see what we got!

Going Nuts! (No, seriously, I may be going nuts- and you’re invited!)

WOW! There is so much going on right now! I have been blessed with an amazingly full plate in my life.  I just wanted to drop a quick note to all my Stamp-Nuts to keep you posted. So, What is going on, you ask??

For starters, June 1st was Saturday, which equals new Idea Book and Catalog for Stampin’ Up!! Check out the PDF here if you haven’t seen it already.

I've already had mine laminated and spiral bound!!

I’ve already had mine laminated                   and spiral bound!!

My Wish List is growing by the minute… I don’t know how I’m supposed to narrow it down to place my first order, HA HA!

Also, mom and I have been trying to organize our craft room. This got kicked into high gear last weekend when I began with a simple plan, organize my 8 1/2 X 11 Stampin’ Up! cardstock. Well, within 24 hours, I had asked “Did you see how Brandy organized her cardstock scraps? She puts them in file folders. We have plenty of file folders, let me do that.” Then we were getting storage cube file cabinets and putting them together. Moving everything out of our “storage room” (which will hopefully be our crafting room, we’ve been saying this for YEARS, but we are really getting close!!) and trying to make a plan to put our stamping stuff back in. We moved a slat-board standing fixture into the room and over 15 cubes. We are going to put slat-board up on the walls and paint eventually. My parents have lived in this house since they got married and you can collect A LOT of stuff in over 30 years. This is a major overhaul for sure! This will end up being a post series in the future with pictures!!

Ok, so what else is going on? Well, I will be beginning law school in the fall and attended my first open house this past week. Also, with work, church and other community obligations I’ve been stretch a bit the last week or two. I apologize for not giving you Stamp-Nuts more.

Special thanks and Welcome to my grandparents, John and Verda, they’re now official “Stamp-Nuts!”

Drum-roll, Please!!

Stamp-Nut's mouth waters over the NEW Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 Idea Book and Catalog

Stamp-Nut’s mouth waters over the NEW      Stampin’ Up! 2013-2014 Idea Book and Catalog

That’s right! It is TIME for the New Stampin’ Up! catalog! Yes, I’ve been honored and privileged to receive a sneak peek of the SU! 2013-2013 Idea Book! I’m not sure about you, but I’d be a demo just for the sneak peeks and early ordering for the catalogs, LOL!

It’s just under a week before we can begin ordering from the new catty, and I can barely stand it!! My wishlist is as long as ever. So what am I most excited about? I can not narrow it down to one thing, that’s for sure, so here are a few (that means 3, to me 😉 ) of my favorite new things…

Let’s begin by asking, do you love the slim CD cases for your clear-mount stamps? Well, they now come in a thicker size for your wood-mount stamps! I love the new wood-mount cases, I want to transfer all my wood-mount stamps into the new cases! Yes, you have understood correctly, they are selling new wider wood-mount cases! This is so your stamps sets can be uniform, neatly placed on your shelf. (Or randomly stashed in a storage bin-because there is no more shelf space, like me) They also come in a half sizes for smaller sets. You can stack 2 small cases on top of each other and it’s the size of 1 wood-mount case. I’m going to order some extra cases to store some other small accessories and to carry supplies when I go to stamp camps! Stampin’ Up! was nice enough to give us a video of this great new product. I’m a visual learner so let’s take a peek…Stampin’ Up! NEW Wood-Mount Cases

Great, right?!!! I was discussing with mom and we can’t decide if we should just order a few cases with every order and gradually build our collection, or just order a giant order with only the cases, lol!

Something else I love is that through the previous spring and fall catalogs Stampin’ Up! has begun bundling products together, like your stamp set with the matching die set for your BigShot. They continue doing this in the new Idea Book too! There are 2 bundles I really really want! I’m not sure how I am going to make it a week before I can order them, let alone wait another week for shipping!! EEEKKK! I guess this is an opportunity for me to practice patience, ugh! Alright, so the first set I really like is called “Backyard Basics bundle” (pg. 79, Clear Bundle#132728) I want your first time through the new catalog to be amazing and surprising, so I won’t tell you anything more than “I’m so glad there are dies so I don’t have to cut these by hand, beautiful options!” The other bundle I’m obsessed with is “Chalk Talk Bundle” (pg.12 Clear Mount Bundle#132730). Now this bundle is great because I absolutely love the dies for this set! It is a die set with unlimited possibilities. Really, the possibilities can go on forever- today alone, I must have had 5 ideas using this die set alone.  SO EXCITING! The bundles are great because as my mom put it “Well, of course I’m going to buy both” and you save 15%, plus there are so many stamp sets that coordinate with the dies.

For example: Another stamp set that coordinates with the same dies as those in the “Chalk Talk Bundle” is a set I am so excited about; the new Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) stamp set named “Tag It” (pg.45 Clear Mount#130303) I have found a cute new friend, and I will leave it at that.

Ok, so for those of you keeping track at home I’ve only told you 2 things: Wood-Mount Cases and Bundles. I have promised 3, but I feel I may have revealed more than I should’ve, so I will choose my third item carefully. Oh!! Of Course, I know what I love about the new idea book….

THE RETIRED LIST!! Duh, how could I forget! This is the perfect time of year to snag some sets and accessories I’ve had my eye on for a while. Yep, that’s right, I had been straddling the fence and I finally made my move. Mom and I received quite the “haul”. The order came yesterday and it was after 10p before I got to look at our stuff. It’s been so hard to write this post and not go play! Get them before they’re gone and check out the retired products now.

Alright, I hope you are still surprised when you see the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog and Idea Book and enjoy it as much as I did. It really is one of my favorite times of the year!
